Guidance and care throughout.
During your child’s journey through the Upper School, we aim to give our pupils a diverse and balanced education as they work towards making the transition to secondary school. Children benefit from verbal reasoning lessons to help prepare for the 11+ and independent school entrance exams, as well as assistance with selective examinations and interviews.
We celebrate high levels of achievement and ambition and push boundaries, so children go beyond simply the acquisition of knowledge; we want our children to be problem solvers, active learners and generous members of the wider society.
Giving your child an exceptional start.

Curriculum
A richly diverse curriculum.
Whilst there is a focus on core subjects, we aim to provide pupils with a diverse and balanced education as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. We strive to foster a love of erudition and create lifelong learners by designing a curriculum that includes a variety of topics and perspectives, reflecting our diverse school community.
From Year 4 onwards, all children benefit from Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning lessons to prepare for the 11+ and independent school entrance exams. We also provide assistance with selective examinations and interviews.
We offer “Study skills” to teach our children how to structure their independent learning, tailored to support their journey to different destination schools. Throughout Years 4 and 5, both in and out of the classroom, support and guidance are provided to ensure children are well-prepared for these exams.
Music and P.E. are integral parts of the curriculum and are taught by specialist teachers, as is Spanish, Swimming and Forest School.
1:1 Device Programme.
Upper School pupils also benefit from Cognita’s 1:1 Device Programme, where every pupil in Years 4-6 is provided with a school-managed laptop for the duration of their education. This supports the development of vital technology skills integrated throughout lessons, not limited to computing classes alone.
Additionally, we emphasise the importance of teaching children how to safely and responsibly navigate the digital world.
