Admissions Process

Make contact with us. We always like to meet families, talk about your child and your circumstances and help you decide if Oakfields feels like the right place for you and your family.

We are delighted to welcome families for a personal tour, or to one of our regular Open Days. Our Open Days take place termly, typically in the mornings, providing a fantastic opportunity to engage with our Senior Leadership Team, teachers, and pupils. Alternatively, we will happily arrange a personal tour at a time that suits you.

To register for a place at Oakfields, we ask that you complete our registration form and pay your registration fee. As soon as we receive this, we will make contact with next steps.

It is important that your child has a chance to experience Oakfields so we like to invite them in for a Taster Day so they can meet their classmates and see what day to day life will be like.

For children joining Nursery or Reception, we invite them to a Stay and Play session or a Taster Session. Both sessions typically last one hour, during which our Early Years staff will conduct a very short, informal assessment of our prospective pupils.

For children joining Years 1-6, we invite the children in for a Taster Day. This will give them the opportunity to experience Oakfields, meet their new classmates and teacher. During the day, our teachers will conduct a short assessment on reading, literacy and maths to gain an understanding of the children's current baseline.

We aim to make offers within one week of your child attending a Taster Session.

If you make the decision that Oakfields is the right school for your child, we ask that you complete our final paperwork and pay your refundable deposit. Once all paperwork has been received, we will confirm your child’s place and begin to talk to you about transition, uniform and becoming part of the Oakfields community!
